This article covers the effects of the settings within the Migration settings panel within Manage Clubs
Transitioning from a legacy system
Check for all new club implementations. When this is checked, anyone who links with the club (including new registrants) are assumed to be members. In other words, it is assumed they hold a membership that is recorded in the legacy system. New registrants are, in fact, given an opportunity to declare themselves as genuine new members on registration, but unless they specifically declare this, they are assumed to be members. We refer to these members as Legacy Members.
Existing subscriptions need to be purchased post transition
While this is unchecked, MMM will not allow legacy members to buy a subscription that is considered "current" (i.e. starts prior to today). In effect, it is preventing the member from doubling up on their membership as, by being a legacy member, they already have a membership as recorded in the legacy system.
However, there comes a point where this is no longer the case - i.e. their membership has expired in the legacy system. On this date this option should be ticked to open up the possibility of buying a current membership.
First date on which bookings start
Specifies the date on which the temporary membership product starts - thereby ensuring that no automatic access is given to transitioning members to book courts before this date
Date by which all members have a subscription
Specifies the date on which the temporary membership product ends - thereby ensuring that no automatic access is given to transitioning members after this date because they will have been expected to purchase a new membership to cover them from this date.
If there is no period during which you want to assume legacy members have booking rights, then set this date to 1 day before the bookings start date.
Temporary product to use in the mean time
All legacy members are assumed to own the product specified here that may give them relevant court access and pricing as a stop gap until their real membership is recorded in MMM. The period of the product is determined by the dates set above as follows:
- Start Date = First date on which bookings start
- End date = Date by which all members have a subscription
