Because members can send out as many invites as they like this is a potential problem - too many opportunities to play! First, if you are receiving emails then you can switch these off in the notifications tab of My Account.
The most effective way is to declare your weekly availability. You can then indicate various times during a week when you very infrequently play and would generally not be interested in taking up an invite. To use this feature you need to opt in to advanced mode by "taking your invites to the next level" as indicated in the booking centre. Once you've done that you'll be able to choose a new page call My preferences. One of the tabs allows you to set your weekly availability.
For each period you can set a 3 levels of availability - red box means very rarely available, yellow box means sometimes available and green box means normally available. Invitations that fall into your "rarely available" category will not be messaged to you at all.
This is the best way to automatically filter out invites that you'd normally not be interested in taking up.
