The club may set some subscriptions (or any product) to be available for payment by instalment. This can be selected by entering an alternative fee ("Fee if paid monthly") on the subscription details in the products tab of Manage clubs.
The total fee must be given and ManageMyMatch will apportion this fee as appropriate over the months for the duration of the subscription (this may not necessarily be for one year). The fee may be different from the normal fee as the club may apply an uptick to the price for the privilege. All discount schemes specified for the product will apply just as they do for full up-front payment.
With this fee set, members will be given a choice as to how to pay when they come to buy the subscription.
The monthly date anniversaries will be from the day that the subscription starts. So, for example, if the member were buying an annual subscription in advance in, say, March to commence on the 1st of April, then the first instalment will be taken on the 1st of April and then on the 1st of each subsequent month.
Payment is always deducted from the members club account. This is an important point, meaning that it is not taken as a specific charge to their credit/debit card or bank account. Instalment fees may well be quite small in value and payment providers fees may become over burdensome as there is normally a fixed fee component to them. This also ensures a more consistent experience as generally all club fees are taken via the members club account and there are built in, standard mechanisms to control and manage such payments.
When a member has elected to pay by instalment, ManageMyMatch protects the club as far as possible from not receiving funds as committed to by the member. First, the member is forced to record their card details on file (normally this is optional). Second, an auto-topup option is enforced so that ManageMyMatch can always credit the member's account as needed to support the monthly payments. While the member may still select another amount for their auto popup preference, they will not be able select one at a value that would be insufficient to service a month's instalment.
Note that a member may have more than one product being paid by monthly subscription as the option is not limited to subscriptions but to any "product" that could run concurrently. In addition, a family head always pays subscriptions for family members and so an individual account may well need to service several monthly subscriptions. ManageMyMatch will set the auto topup minimum amount to be sufficient to service all expected monthly payments.
With the above scheme in place it may be that the member has enough funds to pay a monthly subscription in which case the transaction is simply achieved by a debit to their club account. Otherwise, ManageMyMatch will automatically credit their account by the auto topup amount and then make the charge on account.
When the member buys a subscription or product to be paid monthly, ManageMyMatch checks their club account credit availability at the time to ensure the first instalments can be supported. If not, they will be asked to top up their account prior to purchase. This ensures that there is some level of financial commitment from the start. In addition to this, any joining fee that may apply is never included as part of the monthly fee. Joining fees must always be paid at the time of purchase.
Club officials may review the past and outstanding payments for any subscription or product purchased by a member by clicking on the Schedule button within the Products tab of the members details page in Manage members. Members may do the same but they can also review each schedule within the Club credit tab of their My account page.
