Additional actions allowed on mobile when located at your club

Typically, you can use the club's kiosk screen to request some immediate actions like getting extra light to finish your match. But you can also use your mobile phone if you like.

To use your mobile, you must have allowed location detection for MMM because these actions only become available when MMM detects that you are physically at the club - you can't simply ask for the lights to be switched on if you're not there!

Switching on location detection

Two things need to be switched on:

1. MMM's location detection setting. Go to the Password/Access tab of My account. There's a panel at the bottom of this page entitled Location detection. It tells you the current state and gives you the option to switch it on if it's off (or off if it's on). This is the only place in MMM where you can change this setting. Your choice is saved on your account, so it applies on all your devices until you change it.
2. Your phone's (or browser's) permission to share your location. The first time MMM asks for your location, your phone or browser will ask whether to allow it - choose Allow. If you've previously blocked it, the Location detection panel will say "Your browser or device settings disallow access to your location". In that case, allow location access for the MMM website (or the browser you use for MMM) in your phone's settings or your browser's site settings, then reload MMM.

When is my location checked?

MMM does not track you in the background. It only checks your location while you have your MMM home page open on your phone, and it stops as soon as you close the page or move to another page. Your location is only used to check whether you're within about 100 metres of one of your clubs.

So if you never open MMM at the club, your location is never checked there. When you want to use one of the options below, simply open your MMM home page while you're at the club.

What you can then do

When MMM detects that you're at one of your clubs, a panel called At club premises appears on your home page. It's hidden at all other times, so don't worry if you can't see it when you're away from the club. The options it may offer are listed below. They're only available if you're a member of the club and the club has set up these options:

• Get extra light. You'll either be able to book more time on the following booking slot of a current match you're playing or simply book some playing time on a free court
• Swap courts. You can swap your currently booked court for another free one. Or you can extend, change or reduce the courts booked for a group event in which you are participating (e.g. a club night)
• Confirm lights. If court lights require confirmation prior to play, you'll be able confirm your presence/use of the court.
• Join event. If there's a current or impending group event that you are participating in but have not yet signed up for on MMM, you can do so here at the time of the session.
• Control lights. You may have permission to control lights irrespective of bookings in which case the option to switch them on or off will be provided.
• Mark a match. Any matches that are about to be played and for which you have some connection/interest in will be presented for you to either appoint yourself or another to mark.

If you'd rather not share your location, you can switch location detection off at any time in the same Location detection panel. You can still use the club's kiosk screen for all of these actions.
