Manual control can be allowed to override the default automatic control.
Most clubs have automatic light control for bookings. This means that if a booking requires light and the court involved has light control configured, the lights will switch on for the duration of the booking automatically.
But it may be desirable for those on court to elect to switch off the lights if they are not needed in the circumstances. This capability has to be switched on from within the court schedule's light configuration screen by ticking the Allow local light control by involved parties option.
With this option selected, any player involved in the booking can switch the lights off and on as desired. Note that the lights will still come on automatically - manual control is optional thereafter. Switching can be done from the club kiosk or from a member's mobile device if they are at the club.
On the kiosk, there will be a light switch button at the top of the court schedule table. On the mobile device, an option will be given on the home page.
As well as involved parties to the booking, club officials and those who are designated light controllers are also able to switch the lights in this manner.
This feature is additional to the light override feature that allows designated light controllers to switch the lights on permanently (on the kiosk or mobile device) for any court irrespective of booking status.
