ManageMyMatch supports 4 types of devices that are permanently located on club premises. These are:
- Kiosk screen - shows a variety of club activities, court schedules & tournaments with limited booking capabilities
- Court-side clock - mounted inside a specific court to show session time remaining and other in-play information
- Court-side control - mounted outside a specific court to show court activity, status and allow light control
- Marker - a mobile device dedicated to the MMM marking app to mark matches
Listed below are the main functions available on each device:
Kiosk Screen
The kiosk screen has 3 main functional areas:
Landing page
This is the default page that highlights current activities and information of immediate interest. This includes:
- Club notices (set using the banner feature)
- Club configured quick links to topical events
- Today's featured match - a fun feature that highlights a particular match being played on court
- Key upcoming events over the following week that typically include club nights and team fixtures
Court schedules
This is a similar screen to what members see on their app for court scheduling, but with only very limited booking capabilities. All available court schedules are shown with the ability to select any date within the booking horizon. Daily/Weekly or Monthly views are available (if configured) as well as a special "Matches only" schedule that is appropriate for tournament days.
The kiosk can be unlocked by a user typing in their 8 digit personal code or by presenting their fob or card to allow additional functions specific to that user that include (where applicable):
- Book any court in the future
- Immediate signup to a club night or similar event happening now
- Re-allocate a booked court to another court
- Confirm light for a particular court
- Book extra light on a free court
- Review and score a recently played match
- Control a court light as a designated light controller
Event displays
All current and historic events and tournaments can be reached from the kiosk. These are navigated to by selecting one of the main navigation buttons:
- Events - discover events currently in play
- Coming up - discover events that are being planned soon
- Recent - review recently completed events
- Archives - find any past event in the history of the club (and MMM!)
The user goes through a short selection process to narrow down the event that includes the sport and type of event and ends up with a full display of the event itself which typically is a tournament of some kind including draws and league listings where applicable. Drill down is even possible to any individual match to see who played and what the score was.
If the kiosk is unlocked by a user, that user will also be given the opportunity to set the score of a match if the event is in play and the user has the right permissions.
Court-side clock
This device is non-interactive and can be configured to show information specific to a single court. The display modes are automatically selected based on court activity as follows"
- No booking - shows a digital clock of the current time
- Individual booking - shows a count-down in minutes to the booking end time
- If the MMM marking app is being used to score a match on this court, a real-time display of the score is shown
- For group bookings, the purpose of the booking is shown
Court-side control
This device is interactive like the kiosk but is dedicated to a specific court. It is designed to be mounted outside the door of a court. There are several display modes that can be selected:
- Court schedule - similar to the kiosk but shows this court for today only. If unlocked, a booking can be made, extra light can be requested as well as light confirmation if relevant
- Today's matches - a dedicated schedule of individual matches for the day - useful for tournament days
- Latest match - display details of the most recent or current match played on court. If unlocked, the match can be scored if the user has the right permissions
- Court light - Displays the light and heating status of the court. If unlocked, the user may:
- Confirm light if relevant for an upcoming session
- Get immediate extra light if the court is free
- If the user is a designated light controller, light can be switched on or off (e.g. for cleaning purposes etc)
- Current booking - displays full details of the current booking
- Court clock - displays what the court-side clock device would display
Marker
The marking device allows for the selection of any relevant, current individual match for marking. The device is obviously mobile and is intended to be carried by the marker to the relevant court. However, it is location aware and it will only function if located within the club premises.
When a match is selected the court and the identity of the marker must be selected. If either of these are involved in a current marking activity, you'll be warned. But if you persist in the selection then the other current marking activity is cancelled. So the court and marker must be genuine! You can't mark different matches on the same court and you can't have the same marker marking more than one match.
Note that involved players or event organisers will be given the same opportunity to mark matches on their personal devices when located at the club. It's quite possible to have more than one device involved in the marking of the same match - this could be useful, for example, to have an assistant help with the marking.
The marking device can be transported to another club and used to mark matches there - but only if the match involves the owning club. For example a line-up match for a team fixture that the owning club is playing away at another club.
