How do I set up or change the club's court booking schedule?

All bookable courts must be set up in the Courts tab in Manage courts.

Normally, you come here to review the schedule and to change certain other aspects of each court - for example what sports a court hosts (click the green button with the courts' number/name on it). But certainly when you first implement ManageMyMatch and occasionally thereafter you will want to change the booking schedule.

There is a big red warning here about this. Because if you change the schedule when member bookings already exists then this will effect those members materially (i.e. what courts they may have booked and when). Changes may also effect Court sets that you may already have set up and, as a consequence, the court times that certain members may be permissioned to access. Member invitations on changed court sets would also be effected. So, all told, changing a court schedule mid-stream can be disruptive. That said, ManageMyMatch will send standard court booking cancellations out to members effected (if applicable) and will make all other changes as appropriate (e.g. change the time of invitations to be in line with the new court schedule or change the Court set definitions).

So to this end, you have to tick the Check to allow changes to this club's court configuration box. Not only that, you then have to indicate by what increments you will want to change the court slot times. Once you've done these two things you can:

• Add a new court (Add button alongside the increments selection)
• Remove a court (red Trash button above each court column)
• Add a new booking slot at the start of the day (yellow + button above the existing court slots)
• Add a new booking slot at the end of the day (yellow + button below the existing court slots)
• Change the the start time of any existing slot (blue up/down arrows by each court slot time)

If any change affects things which are already in place then you'll be warned and asked to confirm the change. If a change has no effect on current operations then no warning is given. For example, if you were to add a new slot at the start or end of a court's schedule then it's not going to effect anything else (though you may want to update court slots to include that new slot as part of their definition). Adding a new court is another example where no immediate impact would be felt.

If you change an existing slot or remove a court altogether then things may be impacted.

Here's an important point to understand. Each court you set up really represents a unique schedule of booking slots. You can set up as many as you like. You might have 3 real, physical courts, but you might have many more possible court schedules. You then use court Views to manage which schedules apply when. None the less, other details concerning the court (as per the pop up window when you press the green button with the court number/name on it) are also on a court-schedule basis. For example you could have a schedule that supports table tennis and another that supports squash that could apply for the same physical court at different times.
