Spaces are a very powerful concept when it comes to managing court booking times. They allow you to have more than one booking schedule simultaneously in place for any one physical court. You could, for example, have a court that is bookable both in half hour slots and hour slots. They also allow you to safely set up an alternative booking schedule for a period of time, whilst ensuring that existing bookings remain valid or in place. For example a tournament weekend where you want to customise the booking times and have them blocked out for members who book on the usual schedule.
So a Space represents a physical court. You then declare one or more Court schedules to apply in that space - at which point they becomes virtual court schedules.
To manage Spaces choose this tab in Manage courts. You can create as many spaces as you like - they only take on any real meaning once you have more than one Court schedule assigned to them. A Court schedule either belongs to one (and only one) Space (in which case it is virtual), or it does not in which case it is physical.
You can add (and name) a space in the Spaces tab. Then, you can add or remove physical court schedules (making them virtual). When you have more than one court schedule in the same space something important happens: At any one time only one of the court schedules may have a booking. A booking in one schedule will automatically block out booking slots in the other that could otherwise overlap this booking. This arrangement is maintained rigorously by ManageMyMatch to ensure that no bookings can clash.
When selecting a court, its schedule is also displayed for reference and, if you select an increment, you can also change its configuration and review its details as described in this article.
